Stags have plenty of offensive options

BRIDGEPORT Derek Needham's smile grows a mile wide when you ask him about the options.

A team does not win 25 games relying on just one player, but the 5 foot 10 Fairfield guard sure was asked to wear many hats last season for the Stags.

"I love it," said Needham, flashing a grin before talking about the help his new and returning teammates provide. "It's very relaxing. I'm just a floor general. I just make sure everyone is in the right spots.

"We have a lot of offense on this team."

The Stags had some point producers last year, with Needham (14.1 ppg), center Ryan Olander (10.4 ppg) and (10.1 ppg). However, now Fairfield has someone else to handle and distribute the ball in 5 8 junior Desmond Wade, who helped Houston reach the Big Dance two years ago.

Now Fairfield has someone else that opposing teams must account for at all times in 6 5 senior Rakim Sanders a former star at who scored in double figures three straight seasons in the ACC.

Fairfield also returns Olander off a breakout junior season, plus rising sophomores and Maurice Barrow, an All MAAC rookie selection, and newcomers Adam Jones and . And don't forget juniors and Colin Nickerson and sophomore off the bench.

"Derek had to be a scorer, a distributor, run the "Anadrol 50" team, defend he had to lead us last year," said first year coach , who led Princeton to an title and a second round .

"We are going to ask him to do all of those things this year, but he won't be the only one."

One of the many things that has impressed the new head coach about Needham is the preseason first team All MAAC guard has fully embraced the added help and a team first approach. Olander was also named to the first team.

"The best players definitely want to show the world what they have been working on and express themselves and play well," Johnson said. "Derek has Tren Delantero Ford F100 72 definitely done that in his first couple years. But you also, when you are trying to win a championship and when you are in those really important games, you realize it can't just be done by one guy and it truly is a team support.

"The think I love about Derek is he's really excited to play with Dez, Rakim, Ryan and Keith our whole roster because he realizes that they can share some of the load as opposed to last year when most of the big things that were going on "Achat Anabolisant Belgique" for Fairfield came through him. This year, it may come through some other guys, which would make us more "Anaboliset Aineet" versatile. People have to key in on Rakim, key on Ryan guess what? That will make it easier for Derek."

Needham is hardly alone in opting to play unselfish basketball. Sanders, who once "Anaboliset Aineet" lit up top ranked North Carolina for 22 points in Testosterone Enanthate And Equipoise Cycle an upset win at BC and could have an NBA future, along with the rest of the Stags have bought into it, too.

"What makes it so good is our chemistry off Turinabol Roid Plus the court makes it easier on the court," Sanders said. "That really helps us out."

Johnson hopes that proves true when the Stags endure some turbulence during the season and there will be some with the monster schedule the mid major program has lined up.

Among the non league foes are Providence, Minnesota, Old Dominion, UConn, Drexel, and the Old Spice Classic, where Fairfield opens with Arizona "buy cheap jintropin online" State.

"I agree with Rakim that we have great chemistry, but what will be interesting for me to watch is as we face adversity, how we hold together," Johnson said. "That will be very important for this team. You want to make the assumption we'll be able to weather the storm, so to speak, but we have to just make sure it happens when it comes."

Most of the Stags have already experienced it with the loss to Saint Peter's on their home floor last March in the MAAC semifinals. After winning the conference's regular season crown for the first time since 1986, Fairfield was unable to finish the job come tournament time.

"After the way things ended last year, everyone was sad, but it's motivation," Needham said. "Coach (Tyson) Wheeler told us in practice, Last year is over, no one should dwell on that. Follow him on Twitter at wspaxton
